Who we are and what this notice covers
AptitudeCheck publishes educational information about careers, study choices and personal strengths at aptitudecheck.com. Interactive assessments are available at app.aptitudecheck.com. This notice describes information processed when you read this website, contact us or follow a link to the assessment app.
Website visits, hosting and security
When you visit the site, hosting and delivery services process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring pages and request times. The WordPress website is hosted through Hostinger and uses Cloudflare for delivery, security and performance measurement. This information supports page delivery, fault diagnosis and protection against abuse.
Reading our public articles does not require an account or an assessment. WordPress login cookies apply if you use an authorised website account; public readers do not need to log in.
Analytics and cookies
The main website uses Google Analytics through Google Site Kit to measure visits and interactions with content. Google tags can process page addresses, referral information, device and browser details, interactions and cookie identifiers. Analytics cookies observed on this site include _ga and cookies whose names begin with _ga_. These help distinguish browsers and associate visits. Cloudflare also provides website performance measurement.
You can manage, block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies or scripts can affect some site functions. Google provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers. Read how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services. A privacy notice describes processing; it does not itself obtain consent or block tracking.
Google advertising
AptitudeCheck has applied to use Google AdSense. A publisher verification tag or an ads.txt file identifies the publisher account; it does not mean the site has been approved or that advertising is active.
Where Google advertising is enabled, advertising providers, including Google, may set cookies that use browsing history on AptitudeCheck and other sites to select adverts. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalise adverts across participating sites. Other participating advertising networks may also use cookies and similar technologies. Ad delivery and measurement can involve web beacons, IP addresses and device identifiers.
Manage personalised Google advertising in My Ad Center. Visit AboutAds choices for participating third-party providers’ advertising choices. These controls do not necessarily remove all advertising. Where a consent message is presented, use its choices and privacy settings to manage optional advertising purposes.
Assessments and saved reports
If you choose to use the assessment app, your answers, session identifiers and related assessment information are sent to the assessment service to operate the questionnaire and prepare results. Processing can include OpenAI services for AI-assisted questions and interpretation. Assessment information is not kept only on your device.
The app also uses local storage and session storage for progress credentials, preferences and report copies. Clearing browser storage may remove local progress and reports; it does not delete information already held by the assessment service. Keep downloaded report backups private and avoid submitting passwords, identity documents, medical details or unnecessary sensitive information in answers. See the app privacy policy for more information.
Messages, external links and embedded content
If you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and any attachments you choose to send. This information is used to handle your enquiry. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information.
Articles can link to external websites. If you follow a link or load embedded third-party content, that provider may receive technical information and apply its own cookies and privacy practices. Review its notice before providing personal information.
Blog comments
Our blog offers comment forms that collect your comment, name and email address, with an optional website field. WordPress also records the submitting IP address and browser information for comment administration and moderation. Your published name, comment and website link can be visible to other readers; the email field is not displayed as part of the published comment.
If you choose the comment form’s save-details option, cookies can remember your name, email address and website for a later comment. You can remove these cookies using your browser controls. The site uses Gravatar for commenter profile images; an email-derived identifier may be sent to that service to look up an avatar. See Automattic’s privacy notice.
Comments and moderation records are stored in the WordPress database, and published comments remain visible unless removed. Contact us if you would like to request removal of a comment or information associated with it.
Service providers and retention
Hosting, security, analytics, email and assessment providers process information needed to provide their respective services. Relevant providers include Hostinger, Cloudflare and Google, and OpenAI for the assessment processing described above. Information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live, depending on the provider and service.
Retention depends on the type of information and the settings of the relevant service. Browser controls let you delete locally stored cookies and app data. This does not automatically erase server logs, analytics records, messages or assessment records held by service providers. Contact us to ask about information associated with you, its retention or deletion.
Your privacy choices and requests
You can ask about your personal information and request access, correction or deletion. Depending on your location, additional rights may apply, including objection to particular uses or a complaint to your local data protection authority. We may need enough information to verify a request and identify the relevant records. Some records may need to be retained for security or applicable legal obligations.
The assessment app is not designed to collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us. We may update this notice as our services change; the date above identifies this version.
